The anticipation started weeks before, the culinary preparations began at the break of dawn and lasted (some times for days) until late in the night. The big day got closer, and the excitement spread through the whole village. Each family knew what their job was: the men set up the tables and benches, and spen much time tasting the wines for which each house was proud.
The women played the most important role at these events: they made sure that the tables were full of appetizing foods. Some women spent four or five days in their kitchens. For this period of time, the village became a team, all with the same goal: to give the bridal pair the most beautiful celebration of their lives. With a rich buffet, house wine which never stopped flowing, and accompanied by the sounds of accordians and drums, the party guests ate, drank and danced for up to three days and three nights, until the next wedding, which was never far away...
